Micro-Generation of renewable energy

Posted on 27. Apr, 2006 by ashleys in Wind Power

I plan to write a series of posts about the potential for the micro-generation of renewable energy. The primary focus will be on how this potential can be tapped and driven by individuals, rather than through the effort of business and government. Due to my present geographic location being in the UK, there will be an unavoidable bias towards the UK but I hope to provide as much generic information as possible. I would certainly welcome any input from anyone on how any aspect of what I cover is reflected in other locations. At present I plan to write a series on each of the potential sources of renewable power, wind, solar etc. For each series I anticipate the scope will broadly cover the following themes:

  • Introduction
  • Definitions
  • Analysis of the potential for micro-generation
  • Available Technologies
  • Business and value case for the individual
  • Commercial aspects of micro-generation
  • Manufacturers
  • Installation and practical advice
  • Relevant information and best practice

I do expect some variation to this as I go along, but lets see how things develop. My hope is that the output will eventually become a useful resource for anyone investigating the possibility of micro-generating renewable energy.

Feedback will of course always be welcome.
